Dust, noise, and traffic can be expected in a Burlington neighbourhood with the beginning of a new construction project.

The work, a Halton Region project, calls for construction to be carried out at the Paletta Gardens Wastewater Pumping Station located on Lakeshore Rd. between Shorearces Rd. and Goodram Dr., beginning now and expected to last a year.

According to a bulletin sent out by Halton, nearby residents can expect increased dust and mud, noise, vibrations, tree removal and truck traffic through the area along with occasional traffic delays.

The work that is being done includes the installation of a permanent generator, removal and replacement of pumps, and upgrades to the electrical and piping systems.

“This project is necessary to continue providing reliable services to the community of Burlington,” the bulletin reads.

Halton says the company hired to carry out the work will have mitigation plans that will be put in place to minimize any of the above-mentioned disruptions.

Meanwhile, work is continuing nearby on Lakeshore Rd. for street resurfacing and the replacement of Pine Cove Bridge. This work is taking place between Guelph Line and Walkers Line and continue until the end of this year.
