It’s Easter weekend in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills!

Easter Weekend in 2023 is Good Friday (April 7), Easter Sunday (April 9) and Easter Monday (April 10).

Almost everything that is closed Friday is closed Sunday.

Without further ado, here’s what will be open and closed this year on Easter weekend in Halton Region.


What’s open and closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday:

Closed:

  • Mapleview Centre
  • Burlington Centre
  • Oakville Place
  • LCBO
  • Beer Store
  • Community centres/arenas/pools
  • Oakville Museum
  • All Milton town facilities
  • Banks
  • Libraries
  • City Hall/Town Hall
  • Halton Court Services
  • Milton Mall
  • Burlington Animal Shelter (for emergencies call 1-888-264-3135)
  • Burlington City Hall
  • all schools
  • Oakville Town Hall

Other major malls closed:

  • Bramalea City Centre
  • Square One
  • Sherway Gardens
  • Vaughan Mills
  • Yorkdale

Open:

  • Toronto Premium Outlets (Friday, April 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
  • Some restaurants may be open for dining in, takeout and delivery, but call ahead to be sure
  • Some smaller grocery stores, such as Rabba grocery stores
  • Most Shoppers Drug Marts
  • Angela Coughlan Pool in Burlington at 2415 Upper Middle Rd.
  • Springridge Farm, 7256 Bell School Line, Milton 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Transit:

  • Oakville Transit will run on a holiday schedule on Friday (regular weekday service resumes Monday)
  • Burlington Transit will run on a holiday schedule and the downtown Transit Terminal and Specialized (Handi-Van) Dispatch will be closed on Friday. Regular service will resume on Saturday. For real-time schedule information, visit www.burlingtontransit.ca.
  • Milton Transit will not operate on Friday
  • GO Transit will run on a Sunday schedule on Friday

  • Canada Post (no mail collection or delivery)

  • LCBO (some locations may have special hours, so call ahead to be sure)
  • The Beer Store
  • Grocery stores
  • Restaurants
