A still-unnamed Catholic elementary school planned for north Oakville will have a ceremonial ground-breaking and blessing in early May.

Halton Catholic school board staff, students, dignitaries, and members of the Oakville community and parishes will be joining Stephen Lecce, Minister of Education, and Effie Triantafilopoulos, MPP for Oakville North-Burlington, at the event at North Oakville #4 Catholic Elementary School.

The event will be Wednesday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. at 420 Threshing Mill Blvd. and will include greetings from the Board, a ceremonious breaking of ground, and blessings officiated by Reverend Jerry Punnassery, Pastor at Mary Mother of God Parish.

The school will be located in the new residential development area of North Oakville, within the North Oakville East Secondary Plan.

The new school, with the ability to accommodate 671 students, is expected to be completed by September 2024.
