Eight per cent of Catholic board staff not vaccinated at schools in Burlington, Oakville, Milton

Only two full-time employees of the Halton Catholic District School Board became fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the three weeks between reporting periods.

The total number of fully vaccinated employees is 3,057 of 3,337 total, or 91.6 per cent as of Nov. 10.

The number of partially-vaccinated individuals is seven, down from five reported on Oct. 20, the first reporting period. Seven people have a documented medical exemption.

There are 28 fewer full time board staff during this reporting period and there are 27 fewer staff who have either refused to report their vaccination status or say they’re not vaccinated, from 295 last time to 268.

Among those frequently in schools or other setting who might have direct contact with staff or students, like visitors, volunteers, contractors, other professionals and bus drivers, more than 93 per cent are fully vaccinated (852 of 914), up a couple of percentage points from October. One person has a medical exemption and 55 are not vaccinated.

In Halton, 88 per cent of residents have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 85 per cent of people are fully vaccinated.

The board will continue to update their numbers as the school year progresses.
