Employees fired after attending party at Milton job site involving stripper

Property developers, Mattamy Homes, have confirmed that multiple contractors have been fired after a party was held at a construction site in Milton amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several photos from the party, which was held on Apr. 9, were posted to Twitter and showcased various employees at a job site with a stripper.

In the photos, none of the employees are wearing masks, social distancing or following COVID-19 protocols.

In a statement sent to CP24, Mattamy Homes said they had been made aware of the incident and confirmed that the employee and subcontractors were from Nelmar Drywall.

“Mattamy Homes has been made aware of an extremely inappropriate and entirely unacceptable incident that took place on Friday, April 9 at a home under construction on one of our job sites, involving an employee and subcontractors of one of our trade partners, Nelmar Drywall,” the statement read.

The statement went on to say that they will be reinforcing their “zero-tolerance policies and clear expectations regarding workplace code of conduct” as well as their “strict COVID-19 protocols” and will make necessary adjustments.
