This. Is. So. Exciting.

This. Is. So. Exciting.

Super fantastic news for crafters and gift-givers alike: Artisans from across Oakville, Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills will be showing off their handmade goods – in person – as the first Etsy market takes place in Halton Region on Saturday.

“Buying handmade means you are buying from a person,” said Milton-based captain Melissa Lowry.

“You are supporting and building your local community.”

A website has been created for the event.

There will be everything from knits, stationery, concrete planters, felt, to bath and body care — and you can buy them just in time for those loved ones with October birthdays and/or Christmas!

Local vendors include Elizabeth Atwood, Vilks Ceramics, Bearded Nomad, Family and Co. Paperie, here right here, Brag about it, and Little Loves Oasis.

Crafters are converging at the Art Gallery of Burlington on Sept. 23 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

While there, you can learn about the processes behind the craft and even take part in DIY workshops led by Etsy makers themselves.

Made in Canada is an in-person, all-Etsy marketplace which popped up in 35 locations in September 2016.

More than 2,000 Etsy sellers participated as vendors and an estimated 90,000 shoppers attended nationwide.

Etsy is a peer-to-peer e-commerce site which connects millions of people worldwide.
