Female Pronounced Dead Following Shooting In Burlington

A female has been pronounced dead after a shooting in Burlington.

A female has been pronounced dead after a shooting in Burlington.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. today (August 21), Halton Police received a call from within a residence at 2244 No. 2 Side Road in Burlington regarding a shooting at that location.

Uniform, K9 and Tactical officers responded to the scene and one male party was quickly taken into custody. A female was located at the residence with traumatic injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No. 2 Side Road was subsequently closed to traffic and will remain closed between Guelph Line and Cedar Springs Road for several hours.

According to police, there is no known, ongoing, related threat to public safety. Police believe that the accused and the victim are known to each other.
