Four Arrested by Halton Police Following Alleged Cell Phone Theft Ring

Four people have been arrested and charged following an alleged cell phone theft ring.

On Nov. 23 members of the Halton Regional Police Service Two District Criminal Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation involving a cell phone theft ring. 

According to police, Best Buy stores throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) were allegedly targeted. 

Since Oct. 25 the theft ring had targeted five different Best Buy locations and stolen about $30,000.00 worth of high end cell phones, according to police.

The following males have been arrested and charged with the following alleged crimes:

Joseph Ryan Pope (18) of Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 (2 counts)
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (3 counts)
  • Possession of Property obtained by Crime

 A young male (17) from Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (2 counts)

 A young male (15) of Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (2 counts)

A young male (16) of Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (3 counts)
