A collision that led to a fuel spill has closed a highway ramp in Burlington.

Crews are on the scene cleaning up the damage on the QEW Toronto-bound ramp to Hwy. 403/407.

Kerry Schmidt of the OPP said the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. this morning (March 20) when a truck and a commercial vehicle collided during rush hour traffic.

There were no injuries.

“As a result of this crash the pick-up truck lost control and ended up going into the side of a fuel saddle tank, rupturing the tank and spilling the fuel all over the highway,” said Schmidt.

A saddle tank is used on larger vehicles to hold extra fuel.

The ramp is expected to be open to traffic later this afternoon.
