Halton Regional Police tow away vehicle after driver caught speeding.

Good Friday was a busy day for Halton Regional Police as they pulled three vehicles from the road for speeding through Burlington neighbourhoods.

The first incident took place around 10 a.m. on April 7 when a car was clocked going 84 km/h over the speed limit doing 144 km/h on Walkers Line near Number 2 Sideroad.

Police said the excessive speed “could have resulted in a fatality for the driver, pedestrian or cyclist.”

Officers impounded the vehicle and the driver faces charges.

The second incident, which also led to the impounding of a vehicle, occurred on Burloak Rd. near the entrance of Bronte Provincial Park, according to police.

This driver was going 118 km/h – almost twice the speed limit – which led to a 30-day license suspension for the driver as well as losing their vehicle for 14 days.

The third incident of a high-speed arrest took place, again, at Walkers Line and Number 2 Sideroad, a notorious location for drivers to travel at excessive speeds.

This driver’s vehicle has been impounded for 14 days and the driver faces a 30-day license suspension for travelling 128 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
