UPDATE: Missing 18-year-old from Oakville located safely

UPDATE: Halton Regional Police announced Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 29) that missing 18-year-old boy Janvan Morara has been located safely.
“Thanks to residents and the media for their assistance,” said Halton police in a tweet on the X social media site.

An 18-year-old boy from Oakville has been missing since Friday morning and Halton Regional Police are asking for help from the public in safely bringing him home.

On Friday (Aug. 25) at approximately 9 a.m., police say Janvan Morara was last known to be in the area of Third Line and Upper Middle Rd.W., southwest of Dundas St. W.

Morara is described as being five-foot-eight tall with a slim build. He has short black curly hair.

Police have provided a recent picture of the missing teen, but say they do not have a description of the clothes Morara was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

Investigators are concerned for Morara’s well-being and are urging anyone who may have seen him to  contact police.
