Halton council extends mandatory mask bylaw in Oakville, Burlington

You’ll need to keep that mask on well into the new year in Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills.
Halton Region has extended by four months the bylaw that requires residents aged five and up to wear a non-medical mask or face covering over their nose, mouth and chin in enclosed spaces.
With the previous four-month extension for the bylaw set to expire on Dec. 31, Regional council voted to continue the mandatory mask requirement until April 30, 2022 at its most recent meeting.
The regulation was first implemented in July of 2020.
A list of exemptions to the requirement include those who have an underlying medical condition and people who have a disability.
A full list of the exemptions can be found on halton.ca/COVID-19.
