A 30-year-old Halton Hills man is facing an attempted murder charge for allegedly trying to kill his father.

A domestic disturbance sent Halton police to a home in Halton Hills on Dec. 29 at 11:45 a.m.

That’s where they found a man outside with a number of serious injuries, including stab wounds.

A second man was found inside with a serious stab wound, along with a dead dog.

Paramedics treated the men before taking them to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was later arrested in relation to the stabbing and formally charged on Jan. 2 with attempted murder, uttering death threats, killing an animal, and failing to comply with recognizance.

He was remanded into custody and remains in hospital.

The name of the accused and location of the incident aren’t being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Both men are expected to survive, say police.
