Halton Police Asking For Public’s Help With Homicide Investigation

Halton Police are asking the public for help in the investigation of a recent homicide.

On Saturday afternoon, August 24, officers were called to the area of Allan and Church Street where they located a 91-year-old man with obvious signs of trauma. The death of Edmund Ferrari is being treated as a suspicous death and investigated by their Homicide Unit.

On Monday, August 26, police report that the results of a post-mortem examination of the victim have confirmed this incident to be a homicide.

Police are continuing to search for a possible witness who was seen leaving the area at the time of the incident.

They are asking anyone with video (security cam, dash cam, etc.) from 3-5:30pm Sat. Aug. 24 east from the downtown core all the way to Gairloch Gardens in the Maple Grove Ave. area to call 905-825-4776. 

He is described as a black man between 30 and 40 years old, more than six feet tall with an average build, shoulder length hair, and wearing a black long-sleeve hoodie and black pants (possibly with a reflective/fluorescent stripe).

Video footage shows him leaving the area in a newer-model, 4-door, black Volkswagen Golf.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses, anyone with information, and anyone with video footage from the east of the downtown core all the way to Gairloch Gardens in the Maple Grove Ave. area. and/or the general downtown Oakville area between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday to contact them.
