A pair of Milton councillors are teaming up with Halton police to help combat the rash of car thefts in the town.

Adil Khalqi and Sameera Ali are hosting the public meeting to raise awareness and offer tips to local car owners.

Among the tips that will be expanded on during the meeting are:

  • Park your vehicle in a locked/secured garage, if possible
  • Use a steering wheel lock to deter theft
  • When not in use, place your vehicle key fob inside a radio frequency shielding bag
  • Invest in an after-market GPS tracker to help if your vehicle is stolen

The meeting is being held Saturday, Mar. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Optimist Room of Milton Sports Centre, 605 Santa Maria Blvd.
