Halton Region wants input before improving several major roads in Milton, Halton Hills

As Milton and Halton Hills continue to grow, Halton Region has begun a study to look at how to improve several major roads in the area.

The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Study will consider a range of improvements on James Snow Pkwy. from Britannia Rd. to Hwy. 401; Steeles Ave. from Regional Rd. 25 to Trafalgar Rd.; and Regional Rd. 25 from 5 Side Rd. to 10 Side Rd.

The Region is considering a variety of improvements, recognizing the unique features of each corridor, such as:

  • widening the roadway
  • cross-sectional requirements to accommodate multi-modal travel
  • active transportation
  • transit supportive infrastructure
  • intersection improvements
  • overall traffic operations and safety
  • the impact of such improvements on the social, cultural and natural environments

A key component of the study is consultation with interested parties through Public Information Centres (PIC). The purpose of the first PIC is to review and obtain input on the study area needs and opportunities, background information, selection of the preferred solution, and next steps in the study.

Anyone with an interest in this study is invited to participate virtually. Members of the public can visit the online consultation webpage to view pre-recorded videos about the study, provide input through an online survey and learn more.

The online PIC will be available until Thursday, Dec. 21.

If you would like to be added to the study mailing list or if you are unable to review the PIC material online and require an alternate format, contact [email protected] or [email protected].
