Halton Public Health has confirmed 30 new cases of COVID-19 today (Oct. 13) across the region for a total caseload of 212.

These numbers are still well below most other areas around the province which are increasingly seeing large jumps. Today’s numbers for Ontario are 746 new cases with Toronto leading the way with 303. Neighbouring Peel Region has 159, Ottawa 119 and York Region 56. Hamilton shows 15 new cases.

Queen’s Park also reported there were 807 new cases in Ontario on Monday.

In Halton, Burlington has the most new cases of COVID-19 with 13 (95 active cases). Oakville has 11 new cases (70 active) followed by five new cases in Milton (32 active) and one new case in Halton Hills (15 active)

Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliot said over 67,700 tests were completed the past two days across the province and nine deaths were reported.

The province says 230 people are currently hospitalized in Ontario, with 60 people being treated in ICUs and 34 patients using ventilators.
