Hamilton Police and York Regional Police are appealing to the public for assistance in finding a vulnerable 71-year-old man from the Township of King.

Steven McDermott, who was last seen on Thursday (May 25), left his residence in an Uber for a medical appointment in Hamilton.

Described as a 5-foot-9-inch British man with a thin build, McDermott weighs approximately 160 lbs. He has short grey-and-brown hair, hazel eyes behind prescription glasses, and a clean-shaven face.

At the time of his disappearance, McDermott was wearing a grey hoodie, dark-grey pants, dark-blue running shoes, and had a fanny pack. He was also carrying a wooden cane adorned with a duck on top, according to authorities.

Concerns for McDermott’s well-being have grown as his family has not heard from him since 3:17 p.m. on May 26.

Authorities believe he may still be in the Hamilton area and are urging anyone with information to contact the police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7141.
