The clocks fell back one hour this past weekend meaning that winter weather and colder temperatures, and winter events, are closer then we think.
According to a recent news release, the town is gearing up for the start of winter weather by stocking salt, sand and brine, preparing equipment and installing snow fences in open areas.
Crews are reacquainting themselves with equipment, road maintenance routes and procedures. Equipment inspections and operation coordination is currently underway and will continue throughout the fall and winter season.

“Our staff are working together to continually improve our response to winter storm events,” Jim Cartwright, Director of Operations, said in a recent news release.
“We are ready to face the challenge of the coming winter season and remind residents to allow the plow for safe and efficient operations.”
In the event of a winter storm, residents are advised to assist neighbours and the town by avoiding on-street parking to ensure safe and efficient snow clearing operations.
All property owners are reminded of their responsibility to clear the sidewalks fronting, or abutting, their property of snow and ice.
The Town of Milton is committed to clearing snow and ice from all roads as soon as possible. Main roads receive the highest priority, followed by neighbourhood streets.
