From now until April 20, 2021, those who visit and pay for parking in Downtown Burlington can get 90 minutes of additional free parking.

This initiative is supported by the Burlington Downtown Business Association to encourage visits to retailers and support small businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

To receive an additional 90 free minutes of parking, simply pay at the parking machine or use the HonkMobile app.

On Nov. 23, 2020, Burlington City Council approved this initiative as a Pilot Project to temporarily amend Parking By-law 39-2016, effective Dec. 1, 2020.

To get bonus 90 minutes of parking, residents must park in an on-street spot or in any municipal parking lot  and pay for parking at machine or using HonkMobile app. The minimum payment is $0.25.

An additional 90 bonus minutes will be added to the time paid for.

If your time expires, including the additional 90 bonus minutes and you wish to stay longer, time may be extended by paying for more parking using the HonkMobile app or inserting more money into the machine.

Residents may do so for up to three hours on the street and all day in lots.

Residents are reminded that parking in Downtown is Burlington is always free after 6:00 p.m. and on weekends and holidays with the exception of the Waterfront parking lots at Spencer Smith Park.
