Growing up slumber parties were always an event that included lots of planning – you had to pick what pajamas you were going to wear, what food you were going to eat, movies you were going to watch, and games you were going to play.

And even though slumber parties may be deemed just for children, they don’t always have to be and recently IKEA Canada proved this.

This past weekend, on Feb. 23, IKEA Canada hosted a slumber party event, the IKEA PJ Party, that gave attendees across the country the chance to see sleep as an essential part of life.

This party was comprised of two parts.

From 8 to 11 p.m. attendees participated in a variety of activities including yoga, meditation, bedtime snacks, and even got guidance from a sleep expert.

And when the clock struck 11 p.m., 20 pre-confirmed winners were chosen to spend the night at the furniture store.

According to a recent IKEA press release, over 1,500 pajama-clad guests attended the event in Canada and 160 guests won the chance to spend the night.

The IKEA PJ Party and Sleepover, according to the release, was hosted at 11 stores from coast-to-coast including Coquitlam, Richmond, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Burlington, Etobicoke, Vaughan, North York, Ottawa, and Halifax.
