After a week of almost perfect weather, the Weather Network is reporting that damp and chilly weather will make its way to the region.

There will be a widespread rainstorm today with scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.

“But there will be some breaks from the rain during the afternoon too,” says Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham, adding that most of the mid to late evening will just see a passing shower as well.

So loyal Raptors fans that will be watching the game from Jurassic Park may not have to worry about the rain.

There will also be occasional rain showers into early Friday along with strong winds.

“The rain will be followed by sunshine by mid-day and through the afternoon on Friday,” Gillham says.

There is the threat for more rain with cooler weather this weekend as well.

“We do know that our weather will be cooler than last weekend with periods of rain and possibly thunderstorms, especially between Saturday afternoon and Sunday. At this point, it looks like we will have improving conditions during Sunday afternoon, but we will have to keep the threat for showers in the forecast,” says Gillham, adding to expect more windy conditions as well.

The Weather Network also reports that the weather during the month of June will be cooler, with below seasonal temperatures.
