Fall is just around the corner in Oakville and so is the busy task of raking up all those leafs in your yard.

No concern as where to put the bags full of leaves from your yard as the Town of Oakville has released the 2023 Fall Loose Leaf Collection Schedule.

Every fall the Town of Oakville collects loose leaves from residents’ ditches and boulevards on designated days between October and December.

If the fall collection schedule is interrupted due to the early onset of winter weather then a spring loose leaf collection service will be offered on an as-required basis.

Loose leaves will be collected from designated areas in Oakville as follows:

Oct. 23-27- Zone 1, 2, 3, 7

Oct. 30-Nov. 3 – Zone 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Nov. 6-10 – Zone 1, 2, 3, 7

Nov. 13-17 – Zone 4, 5, 6, 8, A

Nov. 20- 24 – Zone 1, 2, 3, 7, B, C

Nov. 27-Dec. 1 – 4, 5, 6, 8

Collection Guidelines

  • Collection may occur any time during a scheduled week. To ensure your leaves are collected, put them out by 7 a.m. on the first day of collection in your zone.
  • To help keep leaves from blowing around your neighbourhood, please do not put out leaves more than seven days before the first day of a scheduled week for your zone.
  • Place all loose leaves on the boulevard or on the shoulder, not over catch basins, in bicycle lanes or in the ditches in front of your house.
  • Ensure leaves are free of garbage or other yard waste materials such as brush, branches, large twigs or stones.
  • Contaminated piles of leaves or leaves put out after the pickup dates will not be collected. Homeowners are responsible for removing uncollected leaves.

Bagged leaf service

Halton Region collects bagged leaves and yard waste on the same day as regular garbage pickup. This is a separate program from the Town of Oakville’s loose leaf collection service. Call 311 or visit the Halton Region website for more information on your waste collection schedule.
