Here’s where you can charge your electric vehicle in Burlington

As more people go electric when it comes to vehicle ownership, the growing question is where to go to get charged.

Unlike traditional cars and vehicles that can go to gas stations that are available on almost every street corner, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are not as readily available.

Still, with each passing year more charging stations are becoming available and Burlington plans to increase the number in the future.

In the meantime here is a list of all public charging stations in Burlington.

All the stations mentioned here operate at level 2 which offers between 16 to 32 km per hour depending on the battery.

  • 414 Locust St. – anytime – seven ports
  • 446 Burlington Ave. – after 6 p.m. and on weekends – two ports
  • 533 John St. – after 6 p.m. and on weekends – two ports
  • 421 John St. – after 6 p.m. and on weekends – two ports
  • 391 Brant St. – anytime – two ports
  • 430 Brock St. – after 6 p.m. and on weekends – two ports

There is no charge fee at these public stations however parking rates may apply. Parking is free on weekdays after 6 p.m. and on weekends.

Other rules to consider:

  • EVs must be plugged in
  • EVs must move within four hours of parking
  • Only EVs may park in designated EV parking spaces
