The town of Halton Hills is set to receive millions in funding from the Ontario government.

As noted in a recent press release, the Ontario government is working to get people and keep people moving in 23 municipalities. As a result, the government will be providing $30 million in funding to support 25 ‘connecting links projects’ across the province this year.

“We are investing in municipal roads and bridges to keep families safe and to support jobs and growth in local communities,” Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney said in a statement. “We are working with municipal partners to make investments to help ensure Ontario’s transportation system works for everyone.”

This is part of the government’s ‘connecting links program’.

And, according to the release, the town of Halton Hills will be receiving some of this money.

In total, the town will receive $2,962,787 for the rehabilitation of the Main Street North Bridge over the CNR (site number 13) in Georgetown, Halton Hills.

Although all of the funding for this years (2019-20) connecting links program has been allocated, eligible municipalities can apply for funding for the 2020-21 program later this year.
