Flourish is the theme of this year’s annual Paint the Town event, in which high school students from Burlington, Oakville, Milton and Halton Hills showcase their artistic talent.

Held since 2009, the showcase is a joint project of the Halton Regional Police Service, and both Halton school boards.

Each year a new theme is selected and given to the local high schools to encourage students to participate in the project. Students can earn volunteer hours for their efforts.

In 2018, the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation came aboard to add a fundraising component in support of the Mental Health and Addictions Program at Joseph Brant Hospital. To date, the students have raised more than $9,000 in support of the programs by having their art pieces auctioned.

This year’s Paint the Town will be held Thursday, May 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School, 2333 Headon Forest Dr., Burlington.

This event is free and open to the community. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance.
