Everyone loves a parade and it’s even better when it’s for a good cause in Oakville.

The Duran Place for Kids is hosting its first annual Easter Parade this Sunday at the Sheridan College Trafalgar Campus, from 10 a.m. to noon, in support of Oakville’s Fare Share Food Bank.

The Easter Parade, which will be held outdoors at Sheridan’s Athletics Facility Stadium, will feature Superheroes, Star Wars characters, princesses, live bunnies and sheep, fire trucks, a marching band and of course the Easter Bunny will be there hopping along himself at the end of the march.

The parade will end around 11 a.m. and the “best of al the guests” are invited to stay longer and take pictures with all the special characters in the parade.

“Our goal is to get as much food donations of non-perishables as we can gather from the visitors and deliver them to Fare Share Food Bank, which as you already know is reporting record-breaking demand,” said Duran Place for Kids owner Tina Crisci.

The idea for the Easter Parade came about after watching the Duran Place for Kids Easter Bunny walk the streets of Oakville for four days during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sheridan College is located at 1430 Trafalgar Road.
