Inaugural food festival features over 40 vendors, food trucks at Burlington park

Those looking to attend this weekend’s inaugural Burlington Street Eats Market best bring an appetite.

With over 40 vendors and food trucks on site at Aldershot’s LaSalle Park, the three-day event which begins Friday (June 21) and runs through to Sunday (June 23) will provide those in attendance a chance to eat and listen to live music while the young ones play in the kids’ zone, and then eat some more.

The huge international food festival features award-winning food trucks and all kinds of treats from pineapple and watermelon smoothies and tacos and baked empanadas to Japanese mochi donuts.

There will be more than 300 food items available to try.

Sit back and enjoy live music or you’re feeling a little more active take part in dance classes.

There’ll be plenty for families to enjoy and especially kids who can head to the kids’ zone. There are giant games, a video game arcade, inflatables and they may even run into one of the roaming mascots.

While admission is free, organizers will be raising funds for the Burlington Food Bank and Burlington’s Joseph Brant Hospital.

There will also be free shuttle buses running from Aldershot (Aldershot school lot at 50 Fairwood Place West) and Burlington GO Stations (parking lot downtown at 423 Elizabeth Street) to take residents to the event.

The event kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. through to 10 p.m. and then gets going at noon on Saturday through to 10 p.m. and the weekend wraps up Sunday from noon to 8 p.m.

LaSalle Park is located at 18 Plains Road West in Burlington.
