A couple making out in the back seat of a car used a gun to intimidate the driver of a vehicle they were sharing a ride with from Hamilton to Burlington last Friday night (March 17).

The male culprit, who was displaying the gun in a holster, also struck the driver before fleeing the car with his female partner.

According to reports, the St. Patrick’s Day incident unfolded when the rideshare driver picked up two passengers in Hamilton just after 10.m.

When they were comfortable in the back seat, the couple started to get intimate. When the driver objected, matters got heated when the couple refused to behave.

Once off the highway, the driver pulled over in the area of Indian Rd. and North Shore Blvd. E. in Burlington and told the couple to get out of the vehicle.

Reports indicate at this point the man pulled open his coat to reveal a gun. The driver claims he was then assaulted by the man before the attacker and his girlfriend got out of the car and ran off.

The driver received a cut to his face.

Both suspects are described as being in their early 20s with slim builds.

Anyone with information about this case is urged to call police at 905-825-4747 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
