Life-threatening injuries for passenger in two-vehicle crash in Halton Hills

A man is fighting for his life in hospital following an afternoon collision in Halton Hills.

On Friday (Dec. 1) Halton Regional Police responded to a crash involving two vehicles, at the intersection of  25 Sideroad and Dublin Line.

According to investigators, the incident involved a southbound travelling Hino truck on Dublin Line which collided with an eastbound moving Hyundai Elantra on 25 Sideroad.

Police say, a 24-year-old resident of Rockwood —a passenger in the Hyundai Elantra —suffered life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown if the driver of the Hyundai Elantra was injured or if there were any other occupants in the vehicle.

The roadways where the incident occurred were closed for several hours for investigations and have since reopened.

Officers have not provided an update of the victim’s injuries or if he is in stable condition.

Any information regarding the identity of the person operating the truck has not been released by police.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit have taken over the investigation, police say.
