Loaded gun, drugs, break-in tools found in allegedly stolen vehicle in Oakville

An Oakville man is facing numerous charges after being caught in an allegedly stolen vehicle on Mar. 13.

On Wednesday around 3:30 p.m., Halton police officers observed a black Acura sedan in the area of Third Line and Dundas Street West in Oakville that showed up as stolen.

Officers followed the vehicle as it parked in a nearby plaza before they controlled the scene, and arrested the driver.

Police said that, during a search of the vehicle, they located a loaded handgun, 28.2 grams of prepackaged cocaine, 7.5 grams of prepackaged fentanyl, along with multiple vehicle master key fobs, and a re-programming device.

Joeneil Richardson, 26, of Oakville, has been charged with more than a dozen offences, including drug, weapon and possession of stolen property.

Richardson has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
