Local man arrested following knifepoint robbery of Halton Hills store

A man has been arrested in connection with the alleged knife-point robbery of a convenience store in Halton Hills.

On Sunday, July 16, around 10 a.m., Halton police say a man entered the Circle K located at 10 Mountainview Rd. S. in Georgetown.

Armed with a large kitchen knife, the robber demanded an employee hand over the contents of the cash register. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No physical injuries were reported.

About 90 minutes later, an officer observed the suspect in the area of Guelph St. and Sinclair Ave. where he was arrested.

Ryan Lynch, 24, of no fixed address, was charged with:robbery and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
