Major Coffee Chain Shuts Down All Online Shopping
Sad news - Haltonites can no longer order some of their favourite coffee products from the comfort of their own homes - a huge coffee chain has suddenly ceased all online retail operations.
Have you tried to purchase anything from the Starbucks online retail store recently? Likely not. Earlier this week, Starbucks officially shut down its online shopping platform, according to a Starbucks FAQ.
That’s right, you’ll have to get off your behind and head outside to your nearest Starbucks to snag their coffee, syrups, and thermoses.
Of course, you will be subject to limited availability in-store, and “prices of products previously sold on Store.Starbucks.ca may vary from prices of similar or identical products currently sold in Starbucks stores,” according to the FAQ.
That’s not all - back in early September, Starbucks also announced that they no longer support subscription programs.
Is the coffee giant suffering?
We do know that they are doing some damage control after Teavana was “persistently underperforming” according to a recently third-quarter report from the brand. Starbucks is closing a total of 379 Teavana retail stores, closures that will affect a staggering 3,300 employees.
As for the online store closure, if you have bought something online from Starbucks and want to return it, you can’t do so in store.
“You may return it to Store.Starbucks.ca for a refund of the purchase price within 30 days of purchase,” says the FAQ.
Needless to say (but I will anyway), Starbucks fans in Halton are likely disappointed.
