Hamilton city officials are advising residents to be aware of a temporary closure on Barton St. as a result of an ongoing reconstruction project.

Starting May 24 the westbound lane of Barton St. between Woodward Avenue and Parkdale Avenue North will be closed for approximately two months.

During the closure, traffic control measures will be implemented, and a detour will be in place to redirect motorists. The City urges drivers to anticipate delays in the surrounding area and exercise caution while navigating the alternative route.

The Barton Street reconstruction project aims to enhance the road’s infrastructure and improve overall traffic flow in the area. By temporarily closing the westbound lane, construction crews will be able to carry out necessary repairs and upgrades to the roadway, ensuring safer and smoother travel for commuters in the future.

Local residents, businesses, and commuters are asked to plan their journeys accordingly and allow for extra travel time during the lane closure period.
