A major Milton road will be closed for several days as Halton Region continues to make improvements to Britannia Road.
Thompson Rd. S. will be closed between Britannia Rd. and Logan Drive beginning Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 a.m. as part of the Britannia Road Widening project. It is expected to re-open Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
“We will make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize the impact,” said a Region spokesperson.
“Please note that the closure dates are weather-dependent and subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to the public in advance of the closure date.”
The closure is part of the improvements to Britannia Rd. between Tremaine Rd. and Hwy. 407 within Milton’s wards 3 and 4.
Local access, access to businesses, and emergency access will be maintained along Thompson Rd. S. at all times.
Through vehicle traffic will be detoured along James Snow Parkway, Regional Road 25, and Louis St. Laurent Ave. Motorists should expect delays when travelling through the area.
The intersection closure at Fourth Line and Old Britannia Road currently in place will remain until Nov. 10.
