Major road near Toronto Premium Outlets in Halton Hills will be getting significant upgrade

The Town of Halton Hills has finally come up with its preferred road designs for Eighth Line, between Steeles Ave. and Maple Ave.

An extensive evaluation period has been completed for the four main segments of the road.

Three of the segments are projected to get one travel lane in each direction and one bi-directional centre turn lane with multi-use paths (MUPs) on each side of the roadway. Those sections are:

  • Steeles Ave. to 5 Side Rd.
  • 5 Side Rd. to 10 Side Rd.
  • 15 Side Rd. to Maple Ave.

The remaining segment, from 10 Side Rd. to 15 Side Rd. varies from the other segments and includes two travel lanes in each direction and one bi-direction centre turn lane with MUPs on each side of the roadway.

The upgrades to Eighth Line are due to increased population and greater demand on the Town’s roads network.

An Environmental Study Report has been prepared to document the planning and decision making process for this study.
