If you’ve been waiting for warmer weather, you’re in luck for the upcoming week!

According to the Weather Network, the weather is set to be the warmest it has been all year come next week.

In fact, temperatures are projected to hit the 20 C mark in parts of southern Ontario.

“The city has yet to crack the 20 C mark so far this April, which is actually quite abnormal and has only happened just over a dozen times in the last 80 years,” reads a recent statement from the Weather Network.

We could see the first 20 C day of the year next week, according to the Weather Network.

“After this weekend, temperatures will reach at least the upper teens on Monday (April 30), with the potential for many in southern Ontario (including Toronto’s Pearson Airport) to reach 20 C for the first time this year,” said Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham. “Temperatures will reach the lower 20s (and possibly mid 20s) across most of the region on Tuesday and a southwest wind means that cooler lake breezes off Lake Ontario will be less of a factor than what we saw earlier this week.”

And on Wednesday it could feel as warm as 25 C.

The humidex could hit the 30s.

“The amount of sunshine that we will see is uncertain as well as the timing of the cold front that will eventually bring an end to our period of warmer weather late next week,” said Gillham. “An unusually warm and humid air mass will be in place, which would readily support temperatures reaching the mid to upper 20s and a humidex into the 30s if we have well timed sunshine.”

We still have one hurdle to pass – this weekend the milder and colder temperatures will persist – but after this moody weather, the warmth is welcome!
