Man Dead After Shooting in Oakville

Officers are investigating a fatal overnight incident in Oakville.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 14), police reported that they’re investigating a shooting that took place on Rebecca Street near Dorval Drive.

The male victim was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe there is no threat to public safety at this time.

Rebecca Street is closed between Dorval and Maurice Drive for the investigation.

The road is expected to reopen sometime this morning, but may reopen later than that, police say.

Residents should avoid the area.
