Halton Regional Police are investigating after a vehicle drove through the front door of an Oakville rental store and stole equipment early Tuesday morning (July 9).

The brazen break-and-enter occurred around 5:15 a.m. when a lone man driving what INhalton.com learned from sources was a Volkswagon Jetta reversed their vehicle into the front door of Stephenson’s Rental Services located at 1329 Speers Road.

The truck pushed the front glass door inwards into the store, breaking the door. The man was hiding his identity with some kind of mask over his face.

“(The) suspect entered through the broken door, stealing tools and (then) driving off,” said Halton Regional Police Constable Ryan Anderson.

Sources tell INhalton.com that the Stephenson’s Rental break-and-enter was only the start of a crime spree for the same suspect during the morning hours.

A Tommy Hilfiger store in the RioCan Centre was also busted into as was a local hair cutting shop later in the morning.

No arrests have been made.

A description of the suspect is not currently available, say police.

In a similar robbery at Stephenson’s Rental last year, a truck busted through a side gate and stole various equipment and tools.
