Man stuck between rocks rescued in Burlington

Emergency crews arrived on the scene in Burlington this afternoon (Oct. 3) following reports of a man injured along the lakefront.

According to reports, the man was trapped between large rocks at Spencer Smith Park.

Burlington firefighters and paramedics had to use various devices to free the man including the deployment of airbags to separate the rocks.

Those who were in the park at the time said the man was trapped for about 30 minutes along the west side of the park.

It is believed the victim was rescued and taken to nearby Joseph Brant Hospital. The extent of the injuries is not known.
