Man waving axe at passing vehicles in Milton charged by Halton police

A man waving an axe at passing vehicles in a Milton neighbourhood Monday evening is facing several charges.

According to Halton police, officers headed to the area of Woodward Ave. and Ontario St. N. around 7:15 p.m. after receiving a report of a man wielding an axe.

Once at the scene, police took a 45-year-old Milton man into custody and charged him with possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of methamphetamine and probation breach.

He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
