Endress+Hauser Canada recently announced the planned construction of a new $28-million Customer Experience Centre, which hopes to operate at a net-zero carbon and net-zero energy status.
This two-storey, 47,000-square-foot building will be in the same area of the industrial equipment supplier’s headquarters that is also located in Burlington.
The building will also aim to receive LEED Gold certification, which is awarded to businesses and structures that operate with as little impact on the environment as possible.

The facility will be built on a four-acre site and the company also stated it will be off the hydro grid to help achieve net-zero status.
At night, most electrical systems will be powered down and the building environment will be maintained by heat pumps supplemented by a geothermal system.
The building will house the company’s second Process Training Unit (PTU) in Canada as well as a calibration laboratory, an expanded workshop and a training centre.
The centre is planned to open in the fall of 2020.
