Metrolinx has announced a selective reduction in GO train, GO bus, and UP Express service as part of their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Starting on Wednesday, March 18, the company will reduce its transit services to match the expected reduction in ridership from COVID-19, March Break, school closures, and the “significant shift in many organizations’ work-from-home policy.”

Today, March 15, Metrolinx has released the new schedules that will be in effect for their train routes and bus routes starting this Wednesday.

The company has not yet confirmed when its transit service is expected to return to normal.

“Our key consideration is ensuring our services can continue and our employees and customers are safe,” said Metrolinx President and CEO Phil Verster.

“Our customers will still get the same safe experience, our Transit Safety and customer service teams will continue to be available to help customers get where they need to go. Our teams will also maintain the increased level of cleaning on our vehicles and stations.”
