Milton’s annual festival of fresh food and fun will be returning to downtown next weekend.

The Milton Farmers’ Market, operated by the Milton Chamber of Commerce, is returning to Main Street in Downtown Milton for the 2023 season beginning Saturday, May 20.

“We are happy to bring the market back to this great spot, with easy access to parking and downtown shops,” said a spokesperson for the event.

The market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon starting the May long weekend.

Visitors will be able to browse more than 50 local vendors and find fresh local products like fruit and produce, meats, homemade sauces and baked good, gorgeous flowers, popcorn and much more.

Admission and parking at the Milton Farmers’ Market is free of charge.

The market has made its home in several locations since its inception in 1972, from its beginning in the Town Hall parking lot to the Carriage Square (former Sunoco Service Station) parking lot to the present Main Street location.

“Our vendors work in a spirit of cooperation with downtown merchants and together are responsible for attracting thousands of shoppers every year.”

The Milton Farmers’ Market is one of the only Ontario Farmers’ Markets where the street is closed down and pedestrians are free to stroll and visit with local vendors and businesses.

“The market gives people a real sense of community and is a great meeting place for friends, family and neighbours. People from the community are able to purchase fresh produce from local farmers and help to support the community in which they live.”
