Milton man arrested following daytime break and enter in Burlington

A Milton man who reportedly smashed into a police cruiser during a pursuit is facing charges in connection with an alleged break and enter incident in the Kilbride neighbourhood in Burlington. 
A Milton man who reportedly smashed into a police cruiser during a pursuit is facing charges in connection with an alleged break and enter incident in the Kilbride neighbourhood in Burlington.
Halton police say that before 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, officers were told that a male suspect was breaking into a residence and stealing property from inside.
Police say the suspect was observed leaving the residence in a vehicle.
Police allege that officers observed the suspect vehicle driving in the Derry Road and Appleby Line area in Milton before the driver intentionally collided with a marked police cruiser, causing a head-on collision.
As a result of the collision, the suspect vehicle went off the roadway and into a ditch. Police say the vehicle became inoperable and the suspect was arrested. The suspect was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No officers were injured in the collision.
Police say 28-year-old Michael Miller has been charged with breaking and entering, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and failing to comply with probation.
The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Derry Road was closed in the area of Appleby Line for several hours as a result of the incident.
