If you’ve got opinions on transportation and transit in Milton, the Town wants to hear from you.

From 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, residents are invited to share their feedback at a Public Engagement Session at Sherwood Community Centre, located at 6355 Main St W.

The public session will hear feedback on two movement-focused plans: The Transportation Master Plan Update, and the Milton Transit Five-Year Service Plan.

In 2018, the Town developed a Transportation Master Plan to “guide investment in all modes of transportation” as Milton was forecasted to see significant population and economic growth in the coming years.

The update intends to align transportation policy with Milton’s growth plan and priorities, and will also reflect recent policy directions from the province.

Meanwhile, the Milton Transit Five-Year Service Plan is being developed to identify potential transit changes that could improve efficiency, effectiveness and ridership uptake.

Covering 2024-2029, it will also update the existing transit plan, and recommend sustainable transit requirements in certain growth areas, including Boyne, Derry Green, Britannia, Agerton/Trafalgar, the Major Transit Station Area, and Milton Education Village.

Residents planning to get to the engagement sessions can get there using Milton Transit OnDemand, available within the Milton core area from 5 to 9 p.m. on June 22.
