In order to remain eligible for housing funding from the federal government, Milton is planning to allow additional residential units (ARU).

The zoning amendment would allow for up to four residences on urban lots containing a detached, semi-detached or townhome. Among the four residences could be a separate building on the lot.

Most other surrounding communities have agreed to the ARU standard. Milton is holding a public meeting to allow local residents to provide feedback.

The public meeting is being held Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 150 Mary St.

A decision about the application will not be made by Council at this meeting.

Topics at the meeting will include provisions regarding public safety and other objectives of the Town.

The community is invited to attend and participate in the statutory public meeting and can register as a delegation here before the deadline of April 11 at noon.
