More than 1,600 new cases are being reported today, bringing the active total to 2,664. By most estimates, these numbers are being severely under-reported by lack of testing and changes to reporting policy.

There are a total of 95 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, at least 10 of whom are in ICU. Oakville-Trafalgar has 46 patients, Joseph Brant has 30, Milton District 14 and Georgetown 5.

The vaccination rate in Halton Region is holding steady at 89 per cent with at least one shot and 87 per cent with two. About one-third of people have received a third or booster dose.

Another 20 are at unidentified congregate living sites including a massive outbreak at Maplehurst Correctional Facility that has 109 current cases.
