More than 7,000 COVID-19 vaccines administered in Milton, Oakville, Burlington yesterday

There are 237 new cases of COVID-19 being reported in Milton, Oakville, Burlington and Halton Hills on Dec. 22, down from the 258 yesterday. Across the region there are 1,443 total active cases.

This marks the first time the case count in Halton has dropped from the previous day in nearly three weeks.

One of the main sources of cases in the region is the Maplehurst Correctional Facility in Milton, where there are still 91 active cases.

More than 87 per cent of eligible Halton residents have received at least two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine while 89 per cent have received one.

Yesterday in Halton, 7,059 vaccinations were given, 5,877 were booster shots. On Monday, 6,540 shots were administered.
