More than 94 per cent of public school staff in Burlington, Milton, Oakville and Halton Hills have attested to being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Halton District School Board released updated vaccination numbers as of Oct. 15 and 6,549 of 6,920 board employees and trustees have received both shots, 94.6 per cent.

Another 15, about 0.2 per cent, provided a documented medical exemption.

That leaves 356 people who have either not submitted an attestation form or who are not vaccinated by choice.

Across Halton, about 87 per cent of people are fully vaccinated.

As per the provincial Chief Medical Officer of Health, unvaccinated people, including those with a valid medical exemption, are required to complete COVID-19 rapid antigen testing twice per week.

In addition, staff who aren’t vaccinated are required to complete a COVID-19 vaccination educational program provided by the Ministry of Education.
